Church Construction & Repairs

Building and repairing churches
for Catholic Communities in need

The construction of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Hidalgo, Texas.

Catholic Extension Society builds and repairs essential church facilities to ensure that faith communities can have a transformative presence in the economically poorest communities across the United States. That is why we have helped build and repair 13,500+ structures from coast to coast—more than almost any other organization or corporate franchise. Today, we support the building and repair of church structures by offering matching funds to poor faith communities, who raise resources locally for their projects but need our help to reach their goals.

All of the construction and repair projects we support have the following standards:

  • They are vetted by architectural professionals.
  • They possess adequate insurance.
  • They have the blessing and oversight of their diocese.
  • They complete the project within one year’s time of
    receiving our financial support.

In the past decade, we have built and repaired church facilities in 40 U.S. states and territories. Poor churches have raised $18 million during this period as a result of our construction matching efforts.
