The Holy Family Project provides funding of up to $15,000 to religious sisters serving in Extension Dioceses who work directly with immigrant communities.

To qualify for this funding, each sister or congregation can identify and submit a funding request which details:

  • The needs of the immigrant community which they serve, such as:
    • families separated for immigration reasons
    • families experiencing illness or tragedy
    • families experiencing financial stress
  • How this funding will allow the sister(s) to address the spiritual, physical, and mental well-being of these individuals/families.

Projects should be executed in 3-6 months. Participating religious sisters will be asked to provide a report, video, or photo describing or showing how the funds were used.

This special funding is made possible by the Sisters of the Holy Family. The Sisters of the Holy Family are commemorating the 150th anniversary of their founding with a year-long celebration. The mission of this California-based congregation is to seek out and advocate for the poor and need, especially families. They stand against conditions that demean or undermine the dignity of persons or the sacredness of the family. As part of their Jubilee celebrations, they gave a gift to Catholic Extension Society to support the ministries of other religious sisters in Extension’s network serving vulnerable families.
