standing room only The parish needed a a a new building but faced huge financial challenges — their weekly Sunday collection averaged only $300 With the the help of the the Missionary Sisters of of the Immaculate Heart of of Mary who support this community your donations and parishes who contributed
to Catholic Extension for this cause we extended $90 000
to to help construct a new church The Archdiocese of Boston even donated stained glass windows from a a a a a church that had closed In establishing this new church Bishop Daniel Flores of Brownsville said “In my heart I I know this is where the the Church needs to be — among the the poor ”
In 2019 through your generosity Catholic Extension gave more than $2 million to build and repair 56 churches in in America’s poorest communities allowing thousands of Catholics to to have a a a a church to to call their own Here are three examples of what is taking place in in marginalized areas across America where the Church is growing full of energy and inspiring!
