Stocks and Bonds


Thank you for your interest in donating stock to Catholic Extension.
Gifts of appreciated securities are a great way to support the work of Catholic Extension and they can be transferred easily. In most cases, stock gifts can be made electronically from your account directly to Catholic Extension's.

Instructions below will vary depending on how you hold the securities. In all cases, please notify us when initiating a gift of securities by calling us at 312-795-5112 or by emailing Bailey Hillger at bhillger@catholicextension.org.

If your stock is held by a broker


  1. You may instruct your broker to transfer your shares directly to Catholic Extension's brokerage account via DTC using the information below:

  2. Or, your broker may require you to transfer the securities into an account under Catholic Extension's name at the brokerage.
In either case, so that we are able to ensure proper acknowledgement of your gift for income tax purposes, we ask that you notify us in advance of any electronic transfers of securities. You may notify us online by emailing us at bhillger@catholicextension.org or by calling 312-795-5112.
The information you provide should include a description of the securities donated, the number of shares of stock or face amount of bonds, your name, address, phone number and email address if available.

If you possess stock in certificate form


Please mail your unendorsed certificate(s) and stock power in separate envelopes by registered mail to:

Please sign a blank stock power for each certificate exactly as your name appears on the certificate. To obtain a blank stock power form, contact your broker, banker or Catholic Extension at 312-795-5112. Please include a note stating your gift intention, your name, address, and phone number.

If your shares are in a mutual fund or statement form
