Weekly Meditation

Today the world celebrates New Year's Day, the
beginning of a new year. We Catholics celebrate
this day also in our faith life by honoring Mary
in her unique role as Mother of God, her divine
maternity. Whatever resolutions we make may they
pertain to things that are of value to us - to us
as disciples of Jesus Christ.

Mary's divine maternity was the source of all of
her privileges. Mary made room for God in her life
and because of her faith, generosity and total
response, she merits the designation as "the most
perfect of Jesus' disciples."

May we all bring our best to this new year. Happy New Year!
