Recognized for 42 Years of Service to Papal Society

Mr. Richard Ritter, Vice-President of Catholic Church Extension Society, has been named "Knight of the Order of St. Gregory the Great," a papal distinction, for his role in assisting America's Catholic missions. The distinction was conferred by Pope John Paul II before his death, and the recognition ceremony took place on October 15 during Mass at Chicago's Holy Name Cathedral, with Francis Cardinal George presiding.

Catholic Extension Presents 28th Lumen Christi Award To Father Leroy Clementich

Most Rev. William R. Houck, president of the Catholic Church Extension Society, and Archbishop of Chicago Francis Cardinal George, presented the nation?s top missionary honor, the 28th annual Lumen Christi Award, to Alaska priest Father Leroy Clementich, CSC, at SS. Faith, Hope and Charity Church in Winnetka, Illinois on September 24.
