  • Mission Students Attend World Youth Day

    In April 2004, EXTENSION Magazine profiled the work of Ursuline Sister Theresa Sarich at Santa Monica Mission in El Cenizo, Texas. The story also mentioned the dream of students at the mission to attend World Youth Day. The generosity of Catholic Extension donors helped make that dream possible for two of these students from the Diocese of Lardeo, Lourdes Rodriguez and Monica Quintana, who shared their impressions of the experience.

  • Parish Partnership Program Also Helping Gulf Coast

    CHICAGO, IL - The Catholic Church Extension Society will provide $5 million in rebuilding grants to six Gulf Coast dioceses affected by hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The funds will be used to rebuild and repair churches, chapels, and parish buildings in the Dioceses of Biloxi, Mississippi, Beaumont, Texas, and New Orleans, Lafayette, Lake Charles, and Houma-Thibodeaux, in Louisiana. Immediately following the catastrophic storms, Catholic Extension provided $460,000 in emergency relief funds.
