Mission Partner Support


Mission SupportMissionaries, subsidized by Catholic Extension, work to extend our Catholic Faith to young and old in poor, remote areas of our country. Many parishes in these areas are so poor, the weekly collection is often less than $100. That's not enough to provide a priest or sister with the very basic necessities like food, shelter and electricity. Last year, 425 women religious and priests received monthly salary stipends. These missionaries really depend on Mission Partner friends of Catholic Extension for help.

 

  • $30 or more - Helps provide for gasoline needed by a missionary who travels as many as 300 miles in one weekend to offer Mass at three missions

  • $75 or more - Helps provide a week's worth of groceries which a missionary will so often share with a homebound member of the parish

  • $300 or more - Pays for sheltering a missionary for one month. [With a donation of $300 or more, you will receive a framed photograph of a missionary supported by Mission Partners like you.]

  • $1,000 or more - Will help pay the heating bill for the winter for a missionary serving where overnight temperatures frequently drop below zero
