In partnership with Catholic Extension, Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic Church supported the Dominican Sisters of Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima in Puerto Rico. Thanks to the generosity of Mary, Star of the Sea parishioners the Sisters were able to acquire a space for those elderly and sick sisters who were previously displaced due to the earthquakes.

This new residence, Casa de Salud, will offer the sisters a safe and tranquil place to call home. Their sincerest desire is to care for these sisters, who have dedicated their entire lives to the evangelization of families, which is their congregation’s charism. They will also receive the medical and spiritual care they need. The generous gift from Mary, Star of the Sea will also help fund the operations of the new facility for the elderly, sick, and bedridden sisters, so that they have a beautiful and dignified place to call home. The Dominican Sisters continue their missionary work of reaching out to the community, especially during these challenging times. The Sisters are truly grateful for the generosity of the Mary, Star of the Sea parish community. Without the parish community’s support the Dominican Sisters would not be able to continue their ministry and care for the families in their community. Mary, Star of the Sea truly saved the day for these Sisters!
