Seminarian Endowment Challenge

The purpose of this initiative is to help ensure that dioceses will be able to grow their financial capacity to fund the increasing cost of seminarian education.

Seminarians are a blessing for our Church, but their education places a large financial burden on your diocese
Seminarians are a blessing for our Church, but their education places a large financial burden on your diocese.

The Seminarian Endowment Challenge offers matching funds to dioceses for dollars they raise toward seminarian education endowments. Catholic Extension may match up to $50,000. Dioceses are given nine to 12 months to meet the fundraising goal that they establish with Catholic Extension at the beginning of the Challenge.

This initiative is designed to give dioceses an opportunity to grow their long-term funding resources for seminarians. The Challenge also serves as a fundraising stimulus for dioceses by enabling them to leverage this match in order to attract new gifts from donors in support of seminarian education.

Duration: 1 year
Value to Participating Diocese: $50,000 (on a matching basis)
