Mary Higgins Clark — First Published Story in EXTENSION Magazine

Best-selling novelist Mary Higgins Clark sent her first manuscript to dozens of publishers before receiving an acceptance letter and her first check from EXTENSION Magazine in 1958. Her short story about a flight attendant in the Cold War days drew inspiration from her own experience as a TWA attendant. Originally titled "The Stowaway," this article helped launch an outstanding writing career that continues to entertain and inspire millions of readers today.
