Cardinal Dolan on Catholic Extension

October 25, 2013

Earlier this week, His Eminence Timothy Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop of New York, and Father Jack Wall, President of Catholic Extension, hosted together a “Celebration of Faith” dinner in New York City.  We were joined by special guests the Felician Sisters of Kingstree, South Carolina (2012 Lumen Christi Award recipients), and Kevin Cooper who benefitted from their multi-faceted ministry as a youth.

At the beginning of dinner Cardinal Dolan reflected warmly on the work of Catholic Extension. Here is a short excerpt:

I have been a fan for decades of Catholic Church Extension. Pope Francis has caught the imagination of the world everybody because he says the church has got to get out of the sacristy. The church has got to go out to the highways and byways and the church can’t even be afraid of having some accidents. Catholic Church Extension Society has been doing that for decades and they’ve been doing it splendidly.

We are extremely gracious for Cardinal Dolan’s warm welcome into the Archdiocese of New York, and look forward to returning again soon!
